Land Rover Security Bars
In August 2010 my friends Steve and Lorna from Eureka, CA set out on a massive over-land journey. Their goal: to drive the length of Central and South America in their 1970 Land Rover. Concerned with safety, they asked me to build them a removable locking system that can be stored while driving and installed with little hardware. The pictures aren't very detailed, but we did it with two locks total and circled all the widows (including the windshield) with 1"1/4 square tubing. Now Rover can be alone without shaking in his boots. Here's a link to their travel blog: Slowayround.

The bars connect in the corners with two 1/2" stainless pins.
The pins are trapped in place with large black padlocks.
